The VersaChrome tunable bandpass filters from Semrock offer tunability over wavelengths from 340 to 800 nm by adjusting the angle of incidence without changing spectral performance.

The VersaChrome tunable bandpass filters from Semrock (Rochester, NY) offer tunability over wavelengths from 340 to 800 nm by adjusting the angle of incidence without changing spectral performance. The filters are ideal for fluorescence microscopy, FURA2 dual-wavelength excitation, imaging, and quantitation applications; hyperspectral imaging, high-throughput spectroscopy and fiber-optic telecommunications systems.

PRESS RELEASE

New Semrock UV VersaChromeR Tunable Bandpass Filter

ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 7, 2011 - Semrock has expanded the lineup of its VersaChrome® tunable bandpass filter family to seven filters. The new TBP01-380/16-25x36 <http://www.semrock.com/FilterDetails.aspx?id=TBP01-380/16-25x36> VersaChrome filter offers wavelength tunability over the near UV wavelengths by adjusting the angle of incidence with essentially no change in spectral performance. This new filter, along with the just added TBP01-800/12-25x36 <http://www.semrock.com/FilterDetails.aspx?id=TBP01-800/12-25x36> , expands VersaChrome coverage outside the visible spectrum to include near-IR and near-UV wavelengths.

All Semrock VersaChrome filters ensure top performance with a high average transmission along with the center wavelength tuning flexibility of a diffraction grating. The current complete set covers wavelengths from 340 - 800 nm. Parts are immediately available from stock in 25.2 x 35.6 x 2.0 mm sizes, and custom sizing may be done within one week.

These filters are ideal for fluorescence microscopy and optimized for FURA2 dual wavelength excitation, imaging, and quantitation applications, as well as hyperspectral imaging, high-throughput spectroscopy and fiber-optic telecommunications systems that can benefit from the spectral and two-dimensional imaging performance of thin-film filters. Because of their excellent polarization insensitivity and high optical quality and damage threshold, they are well-suited for a wide range of laser applications as well.

"At the heart of this invention is Semrock's discovery of a way to make very steep edge filters at very high angles of incidence with essentially no polarization splitting and nearly equal edge steepness for both polarizations of light," said Turan Erdogan, Chief Technical Officer.

Order this new filter online before noon (EST) and have it shipped out the same-day, guaranteed with our 30-day no-hassle return policy for all catalog products. Have your filters custom-sized in under a week. All Semrock filters are covered under the company's five-year warranty.

ABOUT SEMROCK:

Semrock, Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, manufactures optical filters that set the standard in performance and reliability for the biotech and analytical instrumentation industries, as well as innovative optical filters for more general laser and optical systems applications. All Semrock optical filters are made with hard ion-beam-sputtered optical coatings. OEM filters are manufactured in volume. End-users benefit from a wide selection of standard catalog products that ship from stock. Semrock's patented and patent-pending products include its highly acclaimed BrightLine® fluorescence filters, state-of-the-art filters for Raman spectroscopy, and other unique filters for lasers and optical systems. Semrock's innovative products, made possible by combining modern ion-beam sputtering with Semrock's proprietary volume manufacturing technology, are covered under a five-year warranty.

Founded in September 2000, Semrock is based in Rochester, New York, a well-known center of optics, and has sales offices throughout the United States. In October 2008 Semrock became a Unit of IDEX Corporation.
