Biophotonics in the bigger picture

If you're as old as I am (or almost), you might remember the postcards people sent out pre-Internet when they changed addresses. The picture side might show, for example, Snoopy standing beside his doghouse on a trailer, carrying a sign reading "we've moved!" On the other side, you might read:

BioOptics World has a new home!

This editorial is an updated version of that postcard. And I'm sending it to say that, while this is the last edition of BioOptics World in this format, it doesn't mean you cannot find BioOptics World. Oh, no-—in fact, BioOptics World will increase its visibility with this move. Though if you've typically accessed BioOptics World from .html pages, you may not even notice the change.

As of May 2015, BioOptics World will integrate into the monthly Laser Focus World, the leading resource covering all photonics technologies and applications—including life sciences. In the pages of that venerable publication, now in its 50th year, BioOptics World will retain its staffing and identity, and offer the same content you've come to rely on. And because Laser Focus World is monthly instead of bimonthly, BioOptics World will increase its frequency. The new collaboration will allow us to reach a larger audience of people deeply interested in this complex market and exciting application area. If you're not currently a subscriber to Laser Focus World, you will begin receiving it with the May issue.

As intimated, you will still find BioOptics World's features, news, product announcements, webcasts, blogs, and more online at www.bioopticsworld.com. And if you subscribe to our e-newsletters, you'll continue to receive those. In fact, we're increasing our newsletter frequency to weekly as well, to keep you updated on the exciting developments in biophotonics.

Like we humans, BioOptics World is on the move—but more findable than ever! We hope that you'll enjoy the changes we've got in store. As ever, we welcome your feedback and look forward to serving your biophotonics-related information needs.
