Silicon photomultipliers

The MicroSL and ArraySL silicon photomultipliers (SPMs) feature high signal-to-noise ratio, ±10% output uniformity, and require only 30 V for measuring low light levels in biophotonics and medical imaging applications. The MicroSL SPMs are 1 and 3 mm detectors that couple to scintillator crystals to detect photons generated in medical imaging and in biophotonics instruments such as flow cytometers. The ArraySL SPMs are 13.4 and 46 mm2 detectors for large-area photomultiplier tube (PMT) replacement in applications where a linear or 2-D array is required.

Microscope camera

The DFC365 FX digital microscope camera offers high temporal resolution for rapid time-lapse recordings in live cell and fluorescence specimen documentation, TIRF, FRET, and structured illumination microscopy. Equipped with a CCD sensor with a 6.45 µm pixel size, the camera achieves acquisition rates of 21 fps at full resolution and high-speed image acquisition at 40 MHz, with the option to set to 20 or 1.6 MHz as required. An optional NIR mode extends the camera’s operating range for fluorescence markers emitting in the >700 nm wavelength range.

Upright microscope

The ECLIPSE Ci series upright microscope systems for clinical applications offer simultaneous, motorized switching of objective lens, condenser, and light intensity. The systems incorporate the company’s Eco-illumination high-intensity LED optical system, which offers low power consumption and heat generation, eliminates color temperature changes, and supports darkfield, polarizing, and sensitive-color polarizing microscopy for gout testing and phase contrast. Additional features include the company’s CFI60 optics; an advanced tool menu for annotations, measurements, and split-screen capability for live comparisons; and image sharing capability via firmware.

CCD camera

The QuantaPro 2K large-format, low-light imaging CCD camera offers TE-cooled, full-frame technology for long integration times in biomedical imaging. Single-output format running at 10 MHz allows for higher frame rates without multi-output tap matching. Features include peak quantum efficiency of 70%, internal cooling to -35°C with an anti-fog feature, a 5 × 5 cm format with highly sensitive 24 µm pixels, and low readout noise and dark current, the latter of which reaches 0.1 e/pix/sec at -35°C.
