ThetaMetrisis characterization tool for photovoltaic cells determines spectral response

May 30, 2012
PM-QE is designed for characterization of photovoltaic (PV) devices.

PM-QE is designed for characterization of photovoltaic (PV) devices. It determines spectral response (SR, A/W), external quantum efficiency (EQE/IPCE, %) and internal quantum efficiency (IQE, %). PM-QE’s light path is through optical fibers rather than free-space optics, allowing operation over long periods without alignment or moving parts, as well as any effect from environmental light.

PM-QE: Characterization of PhotoVoltaic cells

PM-QE is a turn-key solution for the in-depth characterization of PV devices that provides direct determination of device spectral response (SR, A/W), external quantum efficiency (EQE/IPCE, %) and internal quantum efficiency (IQE, %). The light path in PM-QE is through optical fibers instead of free-space optics that allow for flawlessly operation over long periods without any need of re-alignment and moving parts and without any effect from the environmental light. PM-QE performs fast EQE/IQE measurements (less than 5 min for a full Tandem cell characterization) and is fully compatible with various PV technologies (c-Si, poly-Si, silicon thin films, CIGS, organics, etc.)
