PRESS RELEASE

iC212 – iC-Haus press release

Receiver for fast laser pulse measurement

The new optical receiver iC212 is the first of its kind that operates throughout a wide input frequency range of DC up to 1.4 GHz, combined with a wide spectral range. Hence it is ideally suited for measurements of e.g. fast laser diode pulses. The spectral sensitivity ranges from the near ultra violet at 320 nm up to the infrared spectrum at 1000 nm. The active sensor area of the Si-PIN photo diode with lens measures 0.75 mm². This results in a gain of 1.625 V/mW at λ = 760 nm. Thus optical power in the sub-mW range can be detected. DC levels at the input can be compensated by means of an offset trimming feature.

The iC212 qualifies in particular for:
- Rise and fall time measurements of laser beams
- Optical power measurements
- Time-of-flight measurements
- Measurements in fibre transmission networks
- Quality control in laser module production

For easy mounting the iC212 comes with M6 screw threads and an optional fibre connector.

The purchased parts package of the iC212 also includes a carrying case, a power supply pack, a coax cable, as well as the fibre connector and an SMA to BNC adapter.

The iC212 is available through local distribution at a single unit price of $2,595.50.

Introducing iC-Haus
iC-Haus GmbH is a leading independent German manufacturer of standard iCs (ASSP) and customized ASiC semiconductor solutions. The company has been active in the design, production, and sales of application-specific iCs for industrial, automotive, and medical technology since 1984 and is represented worldwide. The iC-Haus cell libraries in CMOS, bipolar, and BCD technologies are fully equipped to realize the design of sensor, laser/opto, and actuator ASiCs. The iCs are assembled either in standard plastic packages or using chip-on-board technology to manufacture complete microsystems, multichip modules and optoBGATM, the latter in conjunction with sensors.
