Jerusalem, Israel--Laser measurement equipment maker Ophir Photonics has opened a new office in Darmstadt, Germany, dedicated to sales, service, recalibration, and repair of all of the company's power and energy meters and beam analyzers. Christian Dini will serve as general manager of the new office, named Ophir Spiricon Europe.

The new office will address European demand for laser technology, which is increasing across a wide array of scientific, medical, and industrial applications, says Yoram Shalev, sales and marketing director of Ophir Photonics. This means the opportunities are tremendous for laser measurement equipment, he adds.

Dini has over 25 years experience in the laser industry, including R&D, sales, and executive management. He served as business development director at industrial CO2 laser manufacturer Synrad Inc., where he restructured distribution across Europe. Prior to that, he served as VP of sales and marketing at contract manufacturer Alphaform AG, VP of sales at a new Synrad Europe office, and product manager at Optilas GmbH.
