Cran-Gevrier, France and Lengnau, Switzerland, May 28, 2002 -- Data-Pixel SAS and Microcut, a member of the the SwissMicro Group, have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the joint development of technological advancements in ferrule inspection systems. The LOI also provides for reciprocal distribution rights of Data-Pixel's contactless visual inspection systems and Microcuts product range with its automated tactile measurement systems

Through this Letter of Intent, Microcut will develop non-contact high precision automated ferrule inspection systems utilizing Data-Pixels acclaimed digital image technologies. The goal is to provide to the fiber optic community the best of both worlds, i.e. the non-contact and the tactile measurement in an automated solution.

Data-Pixel develops new performant measuring tools matching the strength requirements of the market of fiber optic connectors. KONCENTRIK is the common base for a class of different mechanical modules adapted on it so that either connector end-face symmetry, fiber or ferrule eccentricity measurements can be performed. Besides theses activities Data-Pixel provides solutions for the general metrology and more specific, in the field of the laser speckle metrology.
