Zygo announces record results for fiscal 1995
Zygo Corp. (Middlefield, CT) posted net fourth-quarter sales of $10.56 million, the highest income for a single quarter in company history. The figure represents a 71% increase over fourth-quarter 1994 results. Net earnings for the period were $1.14 million, u𨖓% from the previous year. Fiscal-year 1995 (ended June 30, 1995) sales increased 34% from 1994 to a total of $32.2 million, and earnings were $2.75 million, u𨕐%. In late July, the company announced a three-shares-for-two stock split; 1995 postsplit earnings per share were $0.65. The strong performance was fueled primarily by strong demand from the semiconductor and flat-panel-display industries for distance-measuring interferometers for precision motion-control instrumentation. Sales of microscope products also logged significant growth.
