Time-of-flight mass spectrometer

July 1, 1995
A high-energy nitrogen-laser desorption/ablation time-of-flight mass spectrometer (Model RTOF-1M) is a complete mass spectrometer with vacuum pumping system, data acquisition hardware/software, and computer controlled operation. The 20-keV ion flight energy is suited for mass analysis of moderate size molecules such as fullerenes and biomolecules with mass of 200,000 Daltons. This instrument is designed to process samples prepared using Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization (MALDI).
