The Silicon Pyrocam Model PY-128X128-100Si incorporates a 124 ¥ 124 matrix of silicon sensors on 100-µm spacing. This device has a larger area and much lower sensitivity (about 10,000 times less) than CCD cameras, which are often used for beam diagnostics. Large-diameter (u¥to 12.4 ¥ 12.4 mm overall area) high-power laser beams can be analyzed without concentrating the beam, with less need for attenuation. The device also has a dynamic range of 1000.
