Near-field microscope

Sept. 1, 1997
A near-field optical microscope attachment can be placed on the stage of conventional far-field microscopes. The NSOM-100 head bridges and integrates low-resolution far-field optical microscopy with medium-resolution confocal microscopy and high-resolution scanned-probe imaging. The system allows ti¥positioning over a 16-mm field. The instrument offers 0.1-nm axial resolution over 50 µm.
