A miniature spectrometer with fiberoptic coupling can be integrated into on-line process and quality-control systems for industrial and research applications. The on-board memory can be used for fast identification in production systems. The fiber coupling allows measurements to be gathered from more than one location, from difficult-to-reach locations, or from small samples.
