Mountain View, CA, September 23, 2004Thomas M. Baer, CEO and Chairman of Arcturus Bioscience, has been appointed a Consulting Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA). He will continue to lead Arcturus as CEO and Chairman, in addition to his new role at Stanford University.
Baer will work closely with graduate students and faculty of Bio-X, Stanford's new program focused on interdisciplinary biosciences research. By accelerating partnerships among these scientists and corporate partners, Bio-X aims to create fertile ground for discovery, invention and education.
"We are very pleased that Dr. Baer will be joining the Applied Physics faculty. His appointment will provide opportunities for Stanford students to participate in cutting edge research with near term applications in the area of biomedicine, which is in line with our goal to promote collaborations between scientists and engineers in the corporate world and university research groups", said Martin Fejer, Professor and Chair of the Department of Applied Physics.
