OSA - New Focus/Bookham announce Student Award finalists
May 7, 2007, Washington, DC--The Optical Society of America (OSA) - New Focus/Bookham Student Award was established in 1997 to encourage research excellence, presentation prowess, and leadership in the optics community among OSA Student Members. The seven 2007 New Focus/Bookham Student Award Finalists were just announced.
The seven finalists will present their talks on Tuesday, May 8, at CLEO/QELS 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland (from 4:00 - 6:30 pm in room 328 of the Baltimore Convention). All are welcome to attend the oral competition session of the award. The final results will be announced during the plenary session on Wednesday morning, May 9. Six of the seven finalists will receive a $1,500 cash prize each and the top finalist will receive $5,000.
