MagiQ Technologies announces formation of new research lab business

April 10, 2008, Somerville, MA--MagiQ Technologies, Inc., the quantum solutions company, has announced the creation of a new business unit called MagiQ Research Labs (MRL) to serve defense, industrial, commercial, and research customers. The MRL unit is made up of a group of researchers who provide a broad technical base, which has resulted in the development of a wide spectrum of technologies with applications in both the public and private sectors. These include medical optics, quantum information, fiber sensing, aerospace, and defense applications. MagiQ Research Labs also contracts directly with government agencies such as the Army, DARPA, and NASA.

"While continuing to lead the industry in quantum cryptography, MagiQ needs to respond to customer demands for a more flexible and custom business model," said Audrius Berzanskis, chief operating officer at MagiQ. "MagiQ Research Labs will bridge the gap between advanced science and commercial solutions."

For networking and security applications, MRL will provide the following products and services: MagiQ QPN Security Gateway, consulting services for Network Security Architecture and Deployment, and products for commercial and research applications.

On a custom specification and order basis, MRL will provide fiber-optic interferometers, C/L-band pulsed lasers, tunable pulsed lasers, fiber sensors, and contract research and development services.
