• New imaging and display technologies detailed by Imec and Opnext (VIDEO)

    San Francisco, CA--At SPIE's Photonics West 2011, research center Imec and laser diode manufacturer Opnext described their newest imaging and display technology innovations.

    San Francisco, CA--At SPIE's Photonics West 2011, research center Imec (Leuven, Belgium) and laser diode manufacturer Opnext (Fremont, CA) described their newest imaging and display technology innovations to the editorial staff of Laser Focus World.

    Imec is working on a variety of new imaging technologies crucial to improving industrial machine-vision and product-sorting applications, while Opnext is manufacturing laser diodes that are being used in a host of consumer-based applications, such as projection touch displays from Light Blue Optics (LBO; Cambridge, England) and handheld instruments like a vein viewer from AccuVein (Huntington, NY) that improve the clinical experience for phlebotomists and patients alike.
