Optical modulators from Photline Technologies provide high modulation bandwidth
The MX2000-LN and MPX2000-LN series are optical modulators designed for operation in the 2 μm wavelength band. The intensity and phase modulators provide a high modulation bandwidth, compact size, low insertion loss, and low drive voltage. They incorporate 2 μm waveguides and are pigtailed with 2 μm polarization-maintaining fibers.

PRESS RELEASE
Photline Technologies introduces Mach-Zehnder And Phase Modulators for the 2 μm band
The new MX2000-LN and MPX2000-LN series from Photline Technologies are optical modulators specially designed for operation in the 2 μm wavelength band. The new intensity and phase modulators offer the same benefits than their classical 1550 nm counterparts : high modulation bandwidth, compactness, low insertion loss, low drive voltage and reliability. They incorporate 2 μm waveguides and are pigtailed with 2 μm polarization maintaining fibers.
The MX2000-LN-01 intensity modulator is primarily, but not exclusively, intended for lidar applications where it is used in combination with thulium fiber lasers to generate short optical pulses with high extinction ratio. More generally, the 2 μm modulators find applications in lidars, gas sensing, spectroscopy.
Thanks to this latest addition, Photline Technologies is offering the most comprehensive portfolio of commercial LiNbO3 modulation solutions, from 800 nm to 2 μm and for a broad range of applications.
