Aurea Technology single-photon counting module offers QE adjustable up to 25%
The newly designed SPD_A_M2 is an all-in-one, dual single-photon counting module. With a QE adjustable up to 25%, the NIR (900–1700 nm) single-photon detector has a Geiger-mode InGaAs avalanche photodiode and thermoelectric coolers for a low and stable dark count, with a performance of 5.0 × 10-6 per ns.

PRESS RELEASE
AUREA Technology is pleased to launch the newly designed SPD_A_M2, the world's first all-in-one DUAL single photon counting module.
The SPD_A is a family of ultra low noise, high Quantum Efficiency near infrared [900 - 1700 nm] single photon detectors. The detectors' Geiger-mode InGaAs avalanche photodiode and thermoelectric coolers ensure a low and stable dark count, with a performance superior to 5.0 x 10-6 per ns. Thanks to its exceptional sensitivity in high level detections, the SPD_A largely surpasses photomultipliers, or PMTs. While most photomultipliers count a QE below 1% in near infrared, the SPD_A boasts a QE that is adjustable up to 25%.
The SPD_A series also provides plug-and-play connections to personal computers via a USB interface, allowing users to easily adjust detection efficiency and tune gate width and delay. Though it comes with its own Graphical User Interface, end-users are free to develop their own with LabView or C++.
AUREA Technology allows the development of superior and low-cost new products in the near infrared, an advancement not possible with PMTs. The SPD_A allows for single photon counting, Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC), fluorescence, spectroscopy, eye safe laser ranging LIDAR, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).
