Stoneleigh Park, UK, June 2, 2003. The UK's premier optics and photonics event will reflect optoelectronics growth and include the Imaging Science Exhibition. The rapid growth in optoelectronics is to be a major feature of this year's Photonex exhibition in (October 8-9). Photonex, which has shown continual expansion since it began 12 years ago, is returning to its traditional venue at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

Nearly 100 companies are already confirmed to participate and, for the first time, the event will also include an Imaging Science Exhibition within it. While Photonex concentrates on the scientific and industrial application of light, the Imaging Science Exhibition within it will be showing examples of the applied use of the technology in the marketplace. Such companies and organizations have been at Photonex in the past, but this will be the first time there has been a special area dedicated to it.

There has been an increasing level of interest from international companies in 2003. One new exhibitor is Micos GmbH of Germany, which specialises in opto-mechanical products and positioning systems. "I first exhibited with another German company at Photonex in 1999 and it was extremely successful. Photonex proved to be the best way to introduce our company on the UK market", said Dr Wolfgang Meienburg, Director, Sales & Applications, at MICOS. "A key feature of Photonex is the quality & relevance of the visitors and so we are very confident that once again the show will deliver the return on investment we are looking for."

Photonex03 is organised by Xmark Media Ltd. Further information from Laurence Devereux on 011 44 1372 750555 or from www.photonex.org.
