WDM Solutions and Nikkei Electronics to Co-sponsor Fiber Optics Forum
Tokyo, Japan, March 20, 2003. Nikkei Electronics magazine and WDM Solutions magazine announced plans to co-sponsor the Second Annual Fiber Optics Forum July 10-11 at the Tokyo Conference Center. The two-day forum will focus on optoelectronic technology and applications for telecommunications, information technology and manufacturing, plus market trends. Technical speakers will be drawn from Japanese, North American and European optoelectronics companies.
The organizers expect a strong turnout in Tokyo for the conference where fiber-to-home and other optoelectronic applications are of keen interest to Japanese electronics engineers. The previous Forum in this series, which focused on wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) and optical switching, drew over 250 attendees.
Topics to be covered in the Forum include optical networking, developments in local area networks (LANs) and Ethernet technology, recent advances in automotive LANs, tunable lasers, reconfigurable optical add/drop modules in metro WDM applications, manufacturing advances in optoelectronics (including test and automation manufacturing techniques), market trends in optical components and subsystems, advances in indium phosphide optical components, dispersion compensation challenges in optical fiber design, and emerging technologies for next-generation networks
