Industry loses veteran Ralph Swaine

March 3, 2005, Santa Clara, CA--Industry veteran Ralph Swaine passed away suddenly on February 19, 2005. He was a major contributor to the laser industry for more than 25 years, starting his career at Spectra Physics, then moving to Continuum, and spending the last 10 years with Coherent as senior sales engineer, based in Loveland, OH.

March 3, 2005, Santa Clara, CA--Industry veteran Ralph Swaine passed away suddenly on February 19, 2005. He was a major contributor to the laser industry for more than 25 years, starting his career at Spectra Physics, then moving to Continuum, and spending the last 10 years with Coherent as senior sales engineer, based in Loveland, OH.

Ralph was well known and respected throughout his career by customers and colleagues alike, as both a dedicated professional and a thoughtful person who encouraged others in their work. He was also deeply committed to education, and a dedicated volunteer at St. Xavier High School, St. Ursula, and Ursuline Academies. He was a beloved husband of Millie Swaine and father of Jacqueline, Kelly, and Christopher Swaine. To all who knew him, Ralph was a mentor, an advocate, and a friend, and his laughter and broad smile will be missed.
