    The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department and the Center for Ultrafast Optical Science (CUOS) at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) have launched a program offering a Master of Science degree in Optical Engineering and Ultrafast Technology. The program is intended to serve students seeking a nondoctoral, advanced professional degree with a strong emphasis on industrial experience. As the central component of the degree, students will complete a practical, industrially relevant research project that will be tied in with the needs and goals of an industrial partner. The university is seeking corporate associates to participate in the program and in CUOS`s Ultrafast Development Laboratory. CUOS is a designated National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center.
