The DB-2900 series variable attenuators are designed for bit-error-rate testing, optical loss margins measurement, optical power meter and test set calibration, system loss simulation, and optical component testing. The DB-2900C is designed for CATV, high-speed communications, and high-speed analog systems and has angled polished connectors. The DB-2910 is used for LAN and standard telephony applications. The DB-2930 is designed for multimode fiber applications. Attenuation is in steps of 0.1 dB
