Constant-fraction discriminator

The 3420 Constant Fraction Discriminator emits a logic pulse in response to input pulses that exceed a given threshold. Unlike leading-edge discriminators, the constant fraction technique is not subject to time jitter caused by varying amplitudes or risetimes of inputs. The Model 3420 has 16 inputs per module, a 200-ps time walk at 100:1 dynamic range, and individually programmable thresholds.
