Focused Research gets $1.5 million contract to develo¥optoelectronic components

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Arlington, VA) awarded Focused Research (Madison, WI), a wholly owned subsidiary of New Focus (Santa Clara, CA), a $1.5 million, three-year contract for the design and manufacture of 10-Gbit/s fiberoptic receiver and transmitter components. Rob Marsland, vice president of Focused Research, expects to have a marketable high-speed, high- performance, low-cost datalink product at the end of the three years.
