BCC report surveys electronic-display-materials markets
The value of worldwide shipments of electronic display materials was $5.44 billion in 1996, according to a study, Major Display Materials: Markets, Technologies, by Business Communications Company Inc. (BCC; Norwalk, CT). The study also projects an increase to $8.24 billion by 2001, an average annual growth rate of about 9%. Flat-panel-display materials, valued at $1.93 billion in 1996 (35% of the total market value), are forecast to increase to $3.33 billion in 2001 (40% of the total). Display material for cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) was valued at $3.51 billion in 1996 and is expected to increase to $4.90 billion in 2001.
