• IR LED

The OED 884 IR light-emitting diode was designed with a small emitting surface for applications such as high-end, remote-control free-space data links and fiber communications systems. The LED emits 2 mW of 880-nm radiation from a surface 50 µm in diameter, drawing a 50-mA current. Rise- and falltimes are 20 ns. The source is available in chi¥form or mounted in a hermetically sealed TO-18 package.
