Crystal Associates (East Hanover, NJ), manufacturer of nonlinear and UV filter crystals, has appointed Jeff Brunner as sales and marketing director and Barry Wechsler as a senior scientist. . . . Selcom (Southfield, MI) and Dynamic Control Systems (Delta, BC, Canada) have expanded their joint agreement to market each other`s lines of stand-alone, noncontact laser-based measurement sensors from 14 midwestern states to cover worldwide sales. . . . In a $4 million manufacturing expansion, CVI Laser (Albuquerque, NM), manufacturer of laser optical components and electro-optical systems for semiconductor, biomedical, and research markets, will increase its production facility by 32,000 sq ft and add 70 people. . . . At the Optical Fiber Communication conference (San Jose, CA), Swedish laser-diode manufacturer Altitun AB (Kista, Sweden) made its debut with a line of butterfly-packaged diode lasers that can be tuned over the entire erbium band. The base technology resulted from several years of development by Industrial Microelectronics Center AB (Kista and Linköping, Sweden), a contract research company jointly owned by the Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden) and the University of Linköping (Linköping, Sweden).
