Imatest image analysis software tests to ISO 12232

April 19, 2010
Release 3.5 of both the Master and Industrial Testing software packages for analyzing digital image quality includes testing for ISO sensitivity.

Release 3.5 of both the Master and Industrial Testing software packages for analyzing digital image quality includes testing for ISO sensitivity (also called ISO speed), a measure of how strongly an image sensor or camera responds to light. Both saturation-based and standard output sensitivity, described in the ISO 12232 standard, are calculated.

PRESS RELEASE

Imatest LLC expands image quality analysis to include ISO sensitivity in Release 3.5

Boulder, CO. Imatest LLC, the leading provider of software for analyzing digital image quality, has announced that testing for ISO sensitivity (also called ISO speed), will be included in Release 3.5 of both its Master and Industrial Testing (IT) packages. ISO sensitivity is a measure of how strongly an image sensor and/or camera responds to light. Both Saturation-based and Standard Output Sensitivity, as described in the ISO 12232 standard, are calculated.

Now imatest users can quickly and easily analyze ISO sensitivity, as shown in the sample results below for a stepchart image captured with a Canon EOS 20D camera. "ISO Sensitivity was the only major image quality factor not supported by Imatest software, and we are pleased to offer our customers this important new feature" said Norman Koren, Imatest CTO.
