Washington, DC--The OSA Foundation (OSAF) has made its Student Travel Grant Program opportunities for 2013 available. An awards program for students studying science in qualifying developing nations, grant winners have the chance to attend OSA's Annual Meeting, Frontiers in Optics (FiO), as well as OSA topical meetings and Optics and Photonics Congresses throughout the year. OSAF will provide 22 travel grants to nine meetings around the world next year.
Grants exist as part of a suite of OSAF programs that support optics education and outreach activities to advance youth science education, provide optics education and resources to underserved populations, provide career and professional development resources, and support awards and honors that recognize technical and business excellence.
Travel grant recipients are selected by the co-chairs of each meeting. Applications are based on the following criteria:
*Work or study in a qualifying developing nation
