The AccuStream 170 is designed for the 64 bit, 66 MHz PCI bus and provides up to 170 MHz and 1600 x 1200 video input from RGB, YPbPr, DVI, and monochrome video sources.

Lowell, MA, February 4, 2003. Foresight Imaging has announced the AccuStream 170 frame grabber and video streamer, the first member of the new AccuStream Series of high accuracy, high performance imaging boards. The AccuStream 170 is designed for the 64 bit, 66 MHz PCI bus and provides up to 170 MHz and 1600 x 1200 video input from RGB, YPbPr, DVI, and monochrome video sources.

"Our customers are constantly pushing the envelope in acquisition rates and performance. Our new AccuStream 170 board delivers for these demanding users. Our beta test results from customers in military screen capture and monitoring applications have been excellent, delivering 250 MB/second in sustained performance," said Tony Molinari, Vice President, Marketing & Business Development.

AccuStream 170 delivers the highest accuracy RGB video images and high-speed video streaming at 250 MB/second. It supports pixel input rates up to 170 MHz. It accepts up to three monochrome or one RGB, YPbPr, or DVI (Digital Visual Interface) video input from non-standard and standard video sources. Video digitization is 8 bit monochrome or 24 bit color. Contributing to its superior accuracy, AccuStream 170 features extremely low pixel jitter of ±0.5 ns and a signal-to-noise ratio of 47 dB.

Powered by its high speed 64 bit, 66 MHz PCI bus mastering design, scatter-gather technology, and double buffering, AccuStream 170 supports 250+ MB/second sustained PCI bus transfers to accommodate the most demanding video streaming applications. Active RGB, YPbPr, DVI, or monochrome loop-through output is provided to eliminate the need for a separate, active video splitter. AccuStream 170 supports simultaneous real-time display via real-time transfer of images directly to display card memory.

AccuStream 170 is supported by Auto-SYNC, Foresight Imaging's automated configuration software. Auto-SYNC automatically analyzes the incoming non-standard or standard video signal and configures the frame grabber to acquire high precision images from that video source. AccuStream 170 is supported by the IDEA (Imaging Development Environment for Applications) software development kit. IDEA supports the AccuStream Series, I-Series, and HI*DEF product families so that once an application is written with IDEA, users have support for all of these boards without re-writing their software.

Also included is a VESA mode video detection application for instantly locking to any VESA type video signal. A complete Video for Windows driver is included with VESA mode detection and video streaming capabilities. Extensive example programs (with source code) for acquisition, video streaming (with or without compression), graphic overlays, triggering, and more are included with each AccuStream 170 board. Complete application software programs and systems are also available for high-resolution recording, transmission, receiving, and playback.

AccuStream 170 is available now in limited quantities. Production shipments begin February 18, 2003. Pricing is $2,546 in 100 piece quantities.
