    Design and simulation software for integrated optics, Prometheus 2.0 combines beam-propagation and mask-layout tools. Integrated optical waveguiding devices, including wavelength-division multiplexers, can be simulated. The finished design can be exported to multilayer mask files in GDSII, CIF, or DXF formats. The system includes a 3-D beam propagation method; user-defined refractive-index profiles; and expressions supporting complex numbers, integrals, and zero-finders. The software runs under
