Vortran Laser Technology announces the Stradus family of laser-diode modules that deliver digital modulation at 200 MHz. The product line is available in popular wavelengths used for biomedical, R&D, and laboratory applications. Wavelengths include 660 nm at 100 mW, 642nm at 110mW, the newly introduced 488 nm at 50mW, 445 nm at 40 mW, 405 nm at 100 mW, and 375 nm at 16 mW. Key features include M2 = 1.25 (typical) and greater than 90% circularity. All wavelength models offer low rms noise. Beam dimensions are 1.3 mm diameter and the pointing stability is less than 5 µrad/ºC. The modules offer outstanding power stability better than 0.5% for 24 hours and are compatible with both USB and RS-232 interfaces. They offer superb alignment and pointing stability for the most demanding tasks in medical diagnostics, flow cytometry, defect analysis, and other laboratory applications.

Vortran Introduces the Stradus™ Family of Diode Laser Modules
• The newest family of products features 200 MHz digital modulation

Vortran Laser Technology, Inc., suppliers of diode laser modules and advanced instrumentation for industrial and biomedical use, announces the Stradus™ family of laser diode modules that deliver digital modulation at 200 MHz. The new Stradus product line is available in popular wavelengths used for biomedical, R&D, and laboratory applications. Wavelengths include 660 nm at 100 mW, 642nm at 110mW, the newly introduced 488 nm at 50mW, 445 nm at 40 mW, 405 nm at 100 mW, and 375 nm at 16 mW.

Key features include M2 : 1.25 (typical) and greater than 90 percent circularity. All wavelength models offer low RMS noise (less than 0.1 percent from 10 Hz to10 MHz – except 0.2% for 488nm). Beam dimensions are 1.3mm diameter for all wavelengths and the pointing stability is less than 5 µrad/ºC. The Stradus family also offers outstanding power stability <0.5% for 24 hours.

All Stradus diode laser modules are compatible with both USB and RS-232 interfaces and offer superb alignment and pointing stability for the most demanding tasks in medical diagnostics, flow cytometry, defect analysis and other laboratory applications.

Vortran's recently introduced Stradus™ 488nm diode-laser module, featuring an unprecedented 50mW output is designed as an affordable alternative to standard, high-power-output diode-pumped, solid-state (DPSS) lasers which are commonly used in flow cytometry and microscopy applications. This innovative model features digital modulation up to 200 MHz, with analog modulation at ≥ 500KHz.

The company will be showcasing the new laser diode modules during Photonics West, January 26-28, 2010, at Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA. Please stop by Booth #5430 in the North Hall for a demonstration.
