Photronics, Inc., a supplier of sub-wavelength reticle solution technology to the semiconductor industry, has been named to the Deloitte & Touche and Connecticut Technology Council Fast 50 Program for Connecticut. Rankings for the 50 fastest growing technology companies are based on five-year percentage revenue growth (1996-2000). Companies that have distinguished themselves through these achievements have been found to impact a broad spectrum of industries by consistently expanding revenues over a substantial period of time.

Photronics' Chairman & CEO, Constantine "Deno" Macricostas credits leading-edge technological capabilities, strategic global positioning and world-class customer service with the Company's 170% growth in revenues over the past five years. "It is an honor to be recognized as one of Connecticut's fastest growing technology companies, especially during the most severe downturn in the history of the semiconductor industry," noted Macricostas. "Based on our most recent quarter, Photronics, which was founded in Connecticut 32 years ago, became the largest supplier of enabling photomask technology in the world. These achievements serve as reminders of how much value is derived from teamwork and global cooperation among each Photronics team member as they work to strengthen the Company's position as the number one photomask supplier in the world."

"In an era when technology companies seem to appear and disappear overnight, making the Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 is a testament to a company's leadership and its ability to not only have the right solution for that moment in time, but also the vision that allows growth over five years. Photronics has proven to have the qualifications to succeed, and we at Deloitte & Touche salute its accomplishments," said David Carver, partner-in-charge, Deloitte & Touche Technology and Communications Group, Connecticut.

"The technology sector continues to transform the Connecticut economy, and will be a primary driver in rejuvenating the marketplace as we move forward," said Michael Theodore, President of the Connecticut Technology Council.
