Colibrys to market accelerometers directly in North America

Neuchâtel, Switzerland and Cary, NC, February 6, 2003. Colibrys has decided to establish direct sales channels for its high stability, high shock MEMS accelerometers in North America. In doing so Colibrys has ended its agreement with Honeywell who had distributed the product under the Honeywell brand name flex ASA7000 since July 2001.

In doing so Colibrys has ended its agreement with Honeywell who had distributed the product under the Honeywell brand name flex ASA7000 since July 2001.

Colibrys is a supplier of standard MEMS products and innovative custom MEMS solutions. Colibrys has the full breadth of MEMS capability, undertaking design, development, wafer fab manufacture, packaging and test of MEMS components. MEMS technology can combine mechanical, optical, semiconductor switching, micro-fluidic, thermal and micro-magnetic functions within a single chip, offering improved performance and smaller size at lower cost. The technology developments have been largely derived from the silicon semiconductor industry and adapted to allow micro-miniature mechanical components to be developed in a reliable industrial manner.
