Quater Introduces Ultra-Precise Micropositioners
Quater Research & Development, Inc. has introduced the XYZ-1000 Series of high-precision micropositioners. These small devices provide for ultra-precise manual positioning of probes, test heads, lasers, optics and numerous other subassemblies in a broad range of analytical, test and instrumentation applications.
The XYZ-1000 Series provides X-, Y- and Z-axis positioning with 1 inch (25mm) of travel on each axis. Designed for both space and cost efficiency, these positioners measure just 3.75 x 4 x 4.75 inches, and single-unit pricing starts at $743.
In making the announcement, Quater president Keith Riehl noted, "The sophistication of today's test and analytical systems is pushing the envelope and placing increased demands upon the precision, accuracy and reliability of micropositioners. Quater has applied leading-edge engineering and developed advanced manufacturing processes to stay out in front of those requirements."
Quater's XYZ-1000 positioner utilizes special heat-treated 440 stainless steel for the construction of its bearings, gibs and slides, for smooth, precise linear motion on all three axes. Either ball or roller bearings will be available. Slide bases are made of dense aluminum with a textured powder-coat finish.
The XYZ-1000 Series of micropositioners may be ordered either with screw or micrometer adjustment, in 40tpi, 80tpi or 100tpi (threads per inch). Micrometers are available either with 0.001in. or 0.01mm resolution. All positioners may be specified for either left- or right-hand operation. An in-line version of the XYZ-1000 will also be available soon.
In addition to the XYZ-1000 Series which provides up to 1 inch of movement on three axes, Quater also offers the XYZ-500 Series for 0.5 inches of movement and XYZ-300 Series for 0.3 inches of movement on each axis.
