Stable Nd:YLF laser

June 1, 1995
Merlin is an arclamp-pumped Nd:YLF laser that comes with a 1-, 5-, or 50-kH¥Q-switched output. Frequency-doubled output is 10-15 W at 527 nm for 250-ns FWHM pulses. An intracavity LBO doubler produces output within ۭ% pulse-to-pulse energy stability when operating at 50 kHz. Applications include Ti:sapphire pumping where long-term stability and beam spatial profile are critical. Single-lam¥design allows a compact power supply needing less than 2-gpm water cooling.
