Faraday isolators provide improved protection and stability for lasers with wavelengths from 230 to 1700 nm. Miniature isolators measure 14 mm in diameter by 22 mm long, with a 4-mm usable aperture and isolation of more than 40 dB with a 10-nm tuning range. A Super Broadband Faraday Isolator FR 500/1100 is continuously tunable from 500 to 100 nm. The FR 488/5 has an erbium-free magneto-optical glass for lasers at 450 to 520 nm.
