Volumetric Velocimetry System

Dantec Dynamics is proud to introduce our new Volumetric Velocimetry system, which when combined with high frame rate cameras, opens a new era for both experimental fluid dynamics research and theoretical model validation. Dantec Dynamics is the first to provide volumetric velocity information at kHz temporal resolution. True volumetric velocity data is obtained by a unique combination of high performance cameras with telecentric lenses and advanced volumetric illumination.

We offer a full range of solutions to match the experimental requirements in configurations using 2, 3 or 4 cameras. In particular, for flows with a low particle number density, a Volumetric Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) algorithm is employed. Flows with medium seeding density require the use of a Tomographic Particle Tracking Velocimetry algorithm, whereas highly seeded flows can take advantage of our powerful Least Squares Matching (LSM) algorithm.

In order to meet the challenges presented by the large quantity of data generated by Volumetric Velocimetry, our Dynamic Studio software supports data acquisition, analysis and processing over distributed networks. A true 3D visualization of this data is achieved through the implementation of stereopsis principles.
