Eyewear offers protection for broad range of laser radiation

May 21, 2009
Univet offers a new range of eye protection. Filters for laser safety eyewear, made of glass or polycarbonate, offer good optical density to protect against radiation and have high thermal stability. Interference glass lenses are made of layers of laminated glass with a metallic coating that allows reflection of radiation and visible light transmission, maintaining unaltered the color vision.

Univet offers a new range of eye protection. Filters for llaser safety eyewear made of glass or polycarbonate, are certified to the most recent European regulations and Laemission limits (AEL's). Interference glass lens are made of layers of laminated glass with a metallic coating that allows adequate reflection of different types of radiation and total eye defense with high protection and visible light transmission, maintaining unaltered the color vision. The most recent frames include comfortable models equipped with adjustable ergonomic temples made of soft silicon. Univet will be at Laser, World of Photonics - stand 523 hall B1.

PRESS RELEASE

A complete family of eyewear to protect operators from every type of laser emission.

Univet, the Italian company leader in production of equipment for eye protection, is going to present at LASER WORLD OF PHOTONICS 2009 fair, scheduled in Munich from 15th to 18th of June, a whole range of eyewear dedicated to protection from every type of laser radiation. UNIVET puts specific researches in laser sector to good use, combining them with long-term experience in planning and producing safety eyewear: the result is a range of high-tech products, that guarantees maximum protection and reliability without forgetting style and comfort.

The most recent family of frames in Univet safety laser comprises among others protective and winning models in ultra-light polycarbonate, provided with ergonomic temples in soft rubber adjustable in length, which make these spectacles very stable (being perfectly adaptable to the user features), comfortable and wrap-around, thanks to frame shape.

The group set mainly absorption filters that screens damaging laser radiation; they can be made either of glass, with high absorption capacity and good visible light transmission, or of polycarbonate, ultra-light and impact resistant but with a lower optical density.

The new range includes also interference filters which can reflect different wavelength laser emissions. Univet interference glass lens are made of layers of laminated glass and covered superficially with a metallic coating that allows the adequate reflection of different type of radiations and the assurance of total eye defence together with high protection and visible light transmission, maintaining unaltered the colour vision (this is especially useful in medical field).

Moreover the company has created a specific model with interference filter for protection from high power laser. The 2 mm thickness aluminium shell guarantees maximum protection even in case of direct radiation from a laser beam. This spectacle can also be easily worn over common prescription glasses thanks to the exclusive interchangeable nose-pad and is equipped with temples adjustable in length and inclination.

All Univet safety laser range is planned in relation to users' requests of performance: the frame can be completely customized by serigraphy and the filters not in catalogue can be suitably developed by technical department – when providing the kind of laser source the client is working with.

UNIVET will be at LASER WORLD OF PHOTONICS - stand 523 hall B1.
