LightWorks Optics receives ISO certification for optics manufacturing facility

Aug. 22, 2011
Tustin, CA--Optical assemblies and systems company LightWorks Optics achieved ISO 9001:2008 registration for its Vista, CA High-Volume Production (HVP) facility.

Tustin, CA--Precision optical assemblies, systems, and components manufacturer LightWorks Optics announced that its 10,000 square-foot High-Volume Production (HVP) division located in Vista, CA, received ISO 9001:2008 registration. LightWorks Optics says that its HVP division has consistently provided ISO-compliant services under LightWorks Optic's general ISO 9001:2008 registration over the last three years, but that the HVP’s new registration status offers a third-party audit (and external validation) of the HVP division's methods for continuous improvement, process control, and quality system management.

"Our day-to-day operations and production practices will essentially remain the same," said Aaron Jones, HVP Operations Manager. "However, the registration now opens up the opportunity to reach new markets and customers that require consistent and controlled processes and quality standards."

Michael Minailo, LightWorks Optic’s CEO and president says, "Having the HVP division be audited by a third-party and included in a cycle of internal audits is an important step, because it provides our defense, aerospace, medical device and commercial customers the confidence that our system of improvement and quality is, and will continue to be, our number one priority."
