Göttingen, Germany, September 3, 2001 – Lambda Physik has reported the postponement of a lithography order. In view of excess capacity that customers have available, the deliveries planned for the 4th quarter have been postponed until fiscal 2002.
As a result, according to company management, the sales forecast of EUR 140 million for fiscal 2001 (ending September 30) can no longer be reached. “At the present time, we cannot rule out the possibility that other orders may be postponed before the end of the quarter due to the ongoing weakness of the lithography market and have therefore had to reduce the sales forecast for this fiscal year,” explained the firm's President and Chief Executive Officer Dirk Basting. “However, we continue to expect sales to increase substantially by 30 to 35 percent, thereby exceeding the sales growth forecast communicated at the IPO.”
