Coldab ultra-short-pulse (USP) laser deposition is a cold ablation technology that works across a range of coating materials and substrates. Diamondlike coatings create surfaces >40 GPa with a low coefficient of friction and no pinholes. The structure and properties of the coating can be customized, including nanostructure-scale surface coatings.
