S1 Optics appoints Rolf Beckert as managing director

Nürtingen, Germany--Optical coatings maker S1 Optics GmbH recently appointed Rolf Beckert as the company's managing director, effective October 1, 2011.

A postdoctoral physicist, Beckert brings a wide range of knowledge in photonics, particularly photovoltaics and optical measurement systems, electro-optical components, and nonlinear crystals.

His experience as a senior sales manager, Europe, at Paderborn, Germany-based Hesse & Knipps GmbH will help S1 Optics to achieve solid sales growth, especially in metallic coatings and dielectrical coatings with optical functional layers.
