Leybold Optics will officially move into its new corporate headquarters at Alzenau, Germany, approximately 15 km from its current headquarters at Hanau, Germany, on 1 February, 2002. Following its decision nearly two years ago to build the new facility, which has recently been completed and will house both its administrative offices and manufacturing operations, construction work got underway in March, 2001. The new facility will allow streamlining its operations and provide its employees and customers with ultramodern work and applications areas.

At its current location, its various departments were housed in several buildings scattered over a large area, which is why it decided to move to a new facility tailored to suit the needs of a high-tech equipment manufacturer.

Around 15,000 sqm of the new facility's total of 21,000 sqm floor space will be devoted to administrative offices and the company's manufacturing operations and modern logistics operations. The new facility and grounds have been leased from RWE Systems Immobilien GmbH u. Co. KG, Essen, Germany, under a long-term agreement.
