Melles Griot to release apochromatic doublet
Engineers at Melles Griot (Rochester, NY) have developed a series of apochromatic doublet lenses that are now commercially available through its catalog. In contrast to the red/blue correction capabilities of conventional achromatic doublets, apochromats offer lens designers full color-correction capabilities, bringing red, blue, and green wavelengths to the same focus.
