The 5046 electro-optic systems are for laser pulse extraction, gating, and chopping. They combine E-O modulators with high-speed FET drivers to produce half-wave retardation over a wavelength range of 300-2000 nm. With rise- and falltimes of 3-4 ns, the systems are useful for regenerative amplifier switching, modelocked pulse extraction, cavity dumping, and Q-switching.
