The Department of Defense (DoD) awarded the Center for Optics Manufacturing (COM) at the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY) $3 million for further development of precision-optics manufacturing technology. The center has a charter to develo¥tools to modernize fabrication techniques and increase the competitiveness of US optics manufacturers.
