Polyimide ultrathin foils

Aug. 1, 1994
Polyimide ultrathin foils are made for pressure windows, filters, and pellicles that must withstand pressure differentials u¥to one atmosphere. High strength and temperature resistance make polyimide material useful in xray astronomy, synchrotronbeam line filters, and proportional counter windows. Freestanding foil ranges from 200 nm to several microns thick.
