Telescoping ball screws

Jan. 1, 1997
Multiextend ball screws telescope to at least twice their length for use in space-constrained applications. Extended lengths for two screws can be 16 ft, and for three screws it can be 24 ft. The screws can be operated either for higher speeds or higher accuracy. The telescoping screws offer higher strength-to-weight ratios than standard ball screws.
